Quad City Food Shelf, which has been in existence for 43 years, serves the communities of Eveleth, Gilbert, Mt. Iron, and Virginia.  Each month almost 30,000 pounds of food is distributed to people in our community who need supplemental groceries.  Your help with this process is needed.  The QCFS is seeking volunteers of all ages and abilities to help them.  They are open on Wednesdays (10:00 to 4:00) and Thursdays (11:00 to 5:00) with shelf stocking beginning about 8:30 a.m.  Would you be willing to give a few hours a week?  There is a job for everyone from meeting with the public to not meeting with the public.  Some of the areas that need help are with intake/registration, stocking shelves and freezers, cleaning floors, unloading vans and trucks, picking up surplus food, and much more.  Give Christie at QCFS a phone call at 741-1371 and Karl can answer your questions.

P.S.  QCFS also has a Thrift Store that is open to the general public on Tuesdays from 9:00 to 1:00.  That means you, too!  There are no income guidelines to shop there.  Just stop by and see what a good buy you can get!  You will be amazed.
